If you are not a Member, please tip generously!

What if you have to cancel?
The official cancellation policy is 24 hours. If someone can take your time slot, then no charge. We get that “shit happens.” We are committed to “being flexible” and will do what we can.

What do I wear?
You will be under a sheet. Wear what you are comfortable in and what you would normally wear under a sheet.

Will it be perfectly silent?
Hell no. It will be a relaxing peaceful experience and we will have mellow music playing to enhance your experience. MPY is alive as is San Anselmo, you may hear some of the sounds you normally associate with a growing child. Let it go, relax and enjoy the massage!

Why does MPY have BodyWork?
Our bodies take a lot of wear and tear. Whether it is repetitive motions at work, a random injury or a nagging pain that just does not seem to go away. We all have experienced pain in our bodies and life, massage is a great way to get our bodies feeling good. If your breaks are squeaking, you take your car to a mechanic. Shouldn’t we do the same when it comes to our body?

Bill Vrabel

Bill Vrabel Massage TherapistBill has been practicing Massage and Bodywork since 1991 with over 1100 hours of training his career focus is on rehabilitation of injury and sports training maximization. Bill’s base style of massage is the Polynesian art of Lomilomi and was taught to him within the family as part of a traditional shamanic upbringing. This base is supplemented with training in various modalities such as Deep Tissue, Myotherapy, Trigger Point Release, Fascia Unwinding, Sports Massage, and Tui Na, as well as the basic complement of skills such as Swedish/Esalen and Reflexology.

With many years of clinical practice under his belt, both at the Acupuncture Clinic of Napa, and later at the Holistic Chiropractic Clinic in San Francisco, his touch is well suited to both deep work and gentle, and also encompasses pregnancy and geriatric work as well. In addition to Massage and Bodywork, Bill also incorporates both Taoist and Tibetan Buddhist practices both into his personal life and into his work.  General sessions are normally done as massage, ie: an oil or lotion based treatment whereas bodywork sessions involve pressure point release work, stretching, fascia mobilization and joint articulation movements and can be done with or with out the accompaniment of lotion/oil based massage and thus may be done fully clothed for the convenience of mid-day appointments. This style of work is a perfect accompaniment to a good yoga program and can help to release those points that are resistant to movement and can help to deepen one’s physical, mental and spiritual practice.

Shel Saxon

Shel Saxon Massage TherapistShel has always enjoyed a good massage, and in 2000, when a friend said, “You have really good hands, why don’t you come with me to check out a massage class?”, she went. She attended the class even though Shel wasn’t quite sure what “good hands” meant. But after completing her coursework and receiving the gratitude & compliments of those coming off her massage table, she got the idea. She takes great pride in her ability to help clients to release stress, get more blood movement through the body, aide in stretching, relieving tight muscles & aches, and with overall relaxation & health-giving.

Shel received her massage practitioner’s degree at the San Francisco School of Massage & Bodywork in 2001, and has continued to take courses throughout the years to continue with her training. Initially, she did massage for fun, in order to help out friends while she worked her ‘9-5 job’, but found her passion for massage growing. After having her daughter in 2005, she wanted a better life/work balance, and to be able to contribute in a more meaningful way to peoples’ wellness, wellbeing, and renewal. Shel specializes in Swedish, Deep tissue, Trigger point therapy and Hot stones. She worked for years at a world-class European Day Spa in San Francisco, where she was able to continually hone her skills in various forms of massage therapy. She has worked at a local Chiropractor’s office since 2010, and has found her balance with massage, life and family.

“Do what you love & love what you do” is a motto that Shel often sees around and always thinks, SO True! Shel enjoys yoga and feels that massage and yoga go hand-in-hand by supporting a happy, healthful and peaceful lifestyle. Shel lives locally with her husband & daughter, loves the warm community and all the fun, food and beauty that San Anselmo has to offer.
